Long Island Lyft Driver Sexually Abused Passenger: Police

BREAKING

A Lyft driver was arrested after he sexually abused a passenger in Central Islip early Sunday, police said.

Hussein Saleh, of Farmingville, picked up two adult female passengers in Patchogue who used the ride-sharing app. During the drive, Saleh sexually abused the woman sitting in the front seat, police said.

One of the women called 911 from the vehicle and police responded at 3 a.m.

Saleh, 36, was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree sexual abuse. He will be held overnight for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip Sunday.

All Lyft drivers are required to undergo criminal background checks, according to the company's website.
