Man Hit By Car And Hospitalized On Long Island: Police
A pedestrian was hospitalized after getting hit by a car and seriously injured on Long Island on Thursday, Suffolk County police say.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A pedestrian was hit by a car and seriously injured in Central Islip on Thursday night, according to Suffolk County police.
Police said Ali Geduk, 50, of West Islip, was driving a 2015 Toyota RAV4 southbound on Connetquot Avenue around 5:45 p.m. when the vehicle struck a man crossing the street westbound in front of 970 Connetquot Ave.
The pedestrian, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Geduk, alone in the vehicle, was not injured and the Toyota was impounded for a safety check, police said.
