Man Robs Central Islip Store With Armed Gun: Police

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A man armed with a handgun robbed a Central Islip vape shop last month and Suffolk County police are trying to find him.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 17, a man walked into Vape Escape, located at 108 West Suffolk Ave., police said. With the handgun, he robbed the business and then fled eastbound on Suffolk Avenue into a waiting blue sedan.

The man was described as Hispanic and in his 20s, police said. He was wearing an olive green Nike jumpsuit at the time of the robbery. The man also had a tattoo on his left hand, which appeared to be a J.
