Person Fatally Struck By LIRR Train In Central Islip: Newsday
The unauthorized person was struck by the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road train, Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials say.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A person who was struck by a Ronkonkoma Branch train in Central Islip on Thursday night has died, Newsday reported.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials say an unauthorized person was struck by the Long Island Rail Road train, and the line was suspended between Ronkonkoma and Farmingdale in both directions around 8 p.m., officials announced on Twitter.
The suspension of the line disrupted service traveling east from Penn Station to Long Island.

Train service has since been restored, officials announced on Twitter.
Service is restored between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma following an earlier incident at Central Islip. In addition to the individual trains that have been delayed, there may be some scattered delays as police and MTA personnel continue to work in vicinity of the earlier incident. https://t.co/xTXsqN4cwW
