Shooting Hospitalizes Teen Boy And Young Woman On Long Island: Police
Two people, including a teen, were seriously injured and hospitalized after a poolside shooting on Long Island on Thursday, police say.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A shooting seriously injured two people in Central Islip on Thursday, according to Suffolk County police.
Two groups of people were near the pool at Hawthorne Living on Hawthorne Avenue when they had a dispute that turned physical between two people, police said.
Someone in the group fired several shots, striking a 16-year-old involved in the physical altercation and a bystander around 4:30 p.m., police said.

Two parked vehicles and an apartment door were also struck and the groups dispersed prior to police arrival, police said.
The 16-year-old male was transported in serious condition to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and a 25-year-old female bystander was transported in serious condition to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, police said.
