Suffolk Police Department Hosts Crime Prevention Forum In Brentwood

Suffolk County police are hosting a Crime Prevention Community Forum in Brentwood to educate the public on scams and other crimes.

BRENTWOOD, NY — The Suffolk County Police Department is helping Long Island residents protect themselves from scams and other crimes through education at an upcoming event.

The police department is hosting a Crime Prevention Community Forum on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Suffolk County Community College's Grant Campus in Brentwood.

According to police, the event will educate guests about the dangers of commons scams, cyber bullying, sexting, identity theft, and social media issues.

The event is being held in honor of October's National Crime Prevention Awareness Month.
