A toddler was hospitalized after being found unresponsive in a Central Islip pool on Tuesday, according to Suffolk County police.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A toddler was found unresponsive in a Central Islip pool on Tuesday, according to Suffolk County police.

Police were called to a Central Islip residence on Woodland Avenue after receiving a 911 call reporting that a 3-year-old girl who lived at the home was found unresponsive in the pool, police said.

Family members pulled the girl out of the water and began CPR until first responders arrived on scene, police said.

The child, who is a resident of the home, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.
