Bronxville native Katie Breen was presented with the Reverend Philip A. Smith, O.P. Award at Providence College's Annual Reunion Weekend. Breen, who graduated from the college in 2008, received the award for her contributions to the mission of Providence College as a young alumna. The award was given to her at a special ceremony, recognizing seven alumni for their contributions to the Providence College community and beyond.
The college says that Breen has been "instrumental in increasing attendance at young alumni events, earned membership in the St. Dominic Society, and frequently participated in campus events including Friar 5K, Friars Club 80th Reunion, Alumni & Family Weekend, and A Night in Black & White."
Breen currently works at HedgeMark International in New York City. Providence College says she is one of the educational institution's most active young alumni. She is currently the vice president and chair of events and marketing.
