Students from Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe high schools have just received scholarship awards for their academic work. All eight students, who will be graduating this year, say they are honored to have received the Michael Frey Scholarships.
The recipients are: Juliana Kim and William Tarry, IV from Bronxville High School; Hannah Baalbaki, Lhamo Tso and John T. Risi from Eastchester High School and Jennifer Almanzar, Tasheka Bolt and Vanessa Velazquez from Tuckahoe High School.
The scholarship is named after one of Eastchester's Finest's who died in the line of duty, Michael Frey. March 21 marked 17 years since the death of Eastchester Officer Frey. Frey was killed by a suicidal sniper who had called 911 requesting help.
