Delicious Food Coming to Bronxville Station

A new place for food and drink will be coming to the vacant 665 square-foot space at the Bronxville Metro-North train station. Guglielmo Mattiello, who is originally from Modena, Italy, has just won a 10-year-lease for the space from the MTA. Mattiello currently owns the restaurant Via Emilia in Manhattan.

Mattiello says his new place in the station will have food and drinks for people who are on the go, with an Italian flair."Train stations in Italy are full of small pizzas, sandwiches… all kinds of sweet, savory food. So that's what I want. I want people to see a great selection," says Mattiello.

Mattiello says he may officially get the lease to the space in about a month. It would then take him about two months to complete construction after he is presented with the lease. When the cafe is up and running, he hopes to have it open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.

"In the morning, I want people to be able to grab lunches ahead of time, so that they can microwave them - offering things like lasagna, other pastas and of course salads," says Mattiello. "For lunch we'll change into fresh sandwiches and some pasta. And the menu will change probably every day. And for dinner, we'll have a large menu, so people can bring food home."
