Eastchester Fire District Election Date Could be Moved

If the governor signs a new bill into law, the date of the Eastchester Fire District election will move. The measure calls for the Fire District election to be held on the same day as the general election. 

Lawmakers have been pushing for the move to save money and increase voter turnout for the Fire District Elections here in Eastchester, as well as in other municipalities. If the bill is signed, there will be a separate ballot for the Fire District election when people cast their ballots. 

Right now, the Fire District election is held in December. If the governor signs the bill into law, it will be moved up to November, coinciding with the general election.
