Houlihan and O'Malley Hosts Armour Villa Party at Broken Bow Brewery

Houlihan & O’Malley real estate agents and staff hosted members of the Armour Villa Neighborhood Association at a recent reception at the new Broken Bow Brewery in Tuckahoe. Nearly 60 people enjoyed tours of the brewery and local craft brews -- including Broken Heart Coffee Stout, Broken Auger Lager, and the new Cherry Wood Red -- from the family-owned and operated brewery. Local restaurants Chianti and The Quarry Inn provided food.

Joe Houlihan, managing partner of Houlihan & O’Malley, welcomed everyone and spoke briefly about the current real estate market in their area. Things are looking good:

“As of October 20th of this year, there have been 48 sales in the Bronxville post office area of Yonkers and there are another 10 properties currently in contract and working toward closing,” he said. “The 48 sales that have closed so far in 2014 have a median price of $807,500 vs. a median price of $729,000 in 2013. Clearly, the outlook for the coming year is a positive one.” Houlihan also pointed out that the facelift in progress at DiChiaro Elementary School is significant and gives the whole neighborhood a boost due to its prominent location on Bronxville Road.

Also in attendance was Joe’s brother, Gerry Houlihan, a former restaurateur who specializes in restaurant consulting and brokerage at Houlihan & O’Malley. Gerry was the broker for the Broken Bow brewery lease.
