Brooklyn Children’s Museum Announces Kaylynn Mayo as New Director of Education
As a talented artist and dedicated educator, Kaylynn Mayo brings a decade of experience to the museum.

Brooklyn Children’s Museum, the world’s first children’s museum and New York City’s largest cultural institution designed especially for families, announces the hiring of Kaylynn Mayo as BCM’s Director of Education.
As a talented artist and dedicated educator, Kaylynn Mayo brings to the Museum a decade of experience leading informal learning and community-centered programming for children of all ages. She has a deep-rooted passion for creating inclusive environments where young people can thrive through artistic expression and discovery.
She previously served as the Manager of School Programs and Community Outreach at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, where she oversaw early childhood programs and community initiatives for children and families throughout New York City. Earlier in her career, she served as the Lead Artist & Educator at BCM, where she was part of the opening team for ColorLab and taught the space’s inaugural programs alongside school and summer camp field trip programming.

Kaylynn holds a B.A. in International Studies from Haverford College and an M.Ed. in Human Development and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
As Director of Education at BCM, Kaylynn now oversees all school, camp, art and outreach programming, as well as engagement with the Museum’s living animal collection and collection of 30,000 cultural objects and natural science specimens.
