Brooklyn Congress, Assembly, Senate Elections 2024: Unofficial Results

BROOKLYN, NY — Polls closed at 9 p.m. on Tuesday in Brooklyn, and the unofficial election results have been rolling in all night.

In Brooklyn, there were contested races for five Congress seats, three State Senate seats, and seven Assembly seats.

Once all the votes are tallied and certified by the New York City Board of Elections, the official final totals will be announced. All results are unofficial until the Board of Elections certifies them.

However, the congressional races have all been called by the Associated Press, and in the case of State Senate District 17, The New York State Senate Republican Conference claimed victory.

Early tallies showed high voter turnout across New York City. More than 685,610 Brooklynites had checked in to vote by 6 p.m. Tuesday, including mail-in ballots, according to New York City's Board of Elections.

Note: There were several uncontested races as well, but we won't bog you down with those numbers. You're welcome.

Senate

Reporting 93.14 percent of votes counted. Race called by the Associated Press.

  • Kristin E. Gillibrand (Democratic, incumbent): 71.32%
  • Michael Sapraicone (Republican): 27.74%
  • Diane Sare (Independent): 0.61%

Congress

U.S. House District 7 (Bushwick, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, Downtown Brooklyn, Greenpoint, Williamsburg, East New York, and parts of Queens) 99 percent of votes counted. Race called by the Associated Press.

  • Nydia Velazquez (Democratic, Working Families Party, incumbent): 77.55 percent of votes, or 158,015 votes
  • Bill Kregler (Republican, Conservative Party) 22.20 percent of votes, or 45,243 votes

U.S. House District 8 (Bed-Stuy, Brownville, Canarsie, East New York, East Flatbush, Brighton Beach, Coney Island, Mill Basin, Bergen Beach): 98.26 percent of votes counted. Race called by the Associated Press.

  • Hakeem Jeffries (Democratic, incumbent): 74.61 percent of votes, or 155,866 votes
  • John Delaney (Republican, Conservative Party): 25 percent of votes, or 52,216 votes

U.S. House District 9 (Brownsville, Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Kensington, Midwood, Sheepshead Bay, Prospect Lefferts Gardens): 98.25 percent of votes counted. Race called by the Associated Press.

  • Yvette Clarke (Democratic, incumbent): 73.13 percent of votes, or 160,481 votes
  • Menachem Raitport (Republican, Conservative Party): 25.80 percent of votes, or 56,614 votes

U.S. House District 10 (Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, DUMBO, Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Red Hook, Prospect Heights, Windsor Terrace, Sunset Park, and parts of lower Manhattan): 98.13 percent of votes counted. Race called by the Associated Press.

  • Daniel Goodman (Democratic, Incumbent): 80.78 percent of votes, or 186,991 votes
  • Alexander Dodenhoff (Republican): 14.94 percent of votes, or 34,577 votes
  • Paul Briscoe (Conservative Party): 2.67 percent of votes, or 6,173 votes

U.S. House District 11 (Bay Ridge, Bath Beach, Dyker Heights, Gravesend, Sheepshead Bay, Bensonhurst and Staten Island): 96.60 percent of votes counted. Race called by the Associated Press.

  • Nicole Malliotakis (Republican, Conservative Party incumbent): 64.49 percent of votes, or 160,908 votes
  • Andrea Morse (Democratic): 35.12 percent of votes, or 87,640 votes

State Senate

State Senate District 17 (Bath Beach, Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Kensington, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, and Gravesend): 98.30 percent of votes counted

  • Iwen Chu (Democratic, Working Families Party, incumbent): 44.47 percent of votes, or 23,532 votes
  • Steve Chan (Republican, Conservative Party): 55.11 percent of votes, or 29,164 votes

State Senate District 23 (Bensonhurst, Brighton Beach, Coney Island, Dyker Heights, Gravesend, Sunset Park, and parts of Staten Island): 97.19 percent of votes counted

  • Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (Democratic, incumbent): 54.69 percent of votes, or 45,336 votes
  • Marko Kepi (Republican): 44.86 percent of votes, or 37,186 votes

State Senate District 26 (Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Sunset Park, Red Hook, Park Slope, Gowanus, Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Greene, Brooklyn Heights, Vinegar Hill, and DUMBO): 97.25 percent of votes counted

  • Andrew Gournardes (Democratic, Working Families Party, incumbent): 78.44 percent of votes, or 83,917 votes
  • Vito LaBella (Republican, Conservative Party): 21.26 percent of votes, or 22,747 votes

State Assembly

State Assembly District 44 (Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Kensington, Borough Park, Victorian Flatbush, Ditmas Park, Midwood, and all of Prospect Park): 96.67 percent of votes counted

  • Robert Carroll (Democratic, Working Families Party, incumbent): 84.72 percent of votes, or 42,746 votes
  • John Bennett (Republican, Conservative Party): 14.76 percent of votes, or 7,446 votes

State Assembly District 45 (Midwood, Manhattan Beach, Brighton Beach, Gravesend and Sheepshead Bay): 98.92 percent of votes counted

  • Michael Novakhov (Republican, Conservative Party, incumbent): 50.24 percent of votes, or 14,762 votes
  • Joey Cohen-Saban (Democratic): 49.32 percent of votes, or 14,492 votes

State Assembly District 46 (Coney Island, Sea Gate, Bath Beach, Bay Ridge, Brighton Beach, Dyker Heights and Gravesend): 95.08 percent of votes counted

  • Alec Brook-Krasny (Republican, Conservative Party, incumbent): 52.40 percent of votes, or 19,474 votes
  • Chris McCreight (Democratic): 47.22 percent of votes, or 17,548 votes

State Assembly District 47 (Bath Beach, Gravesend, and Bensonhurst): 99.00 percent of votes counted

  • Wiliam Colton (Democratic, incumbent): 60.38 percent of votes, or 15,613 votes
  • David Sepiashvili (Republican, Conservative Party): 39.18 percent of votes, or 10,130 votes

State Assembly District 51 (Red Hook, Sunset Park, and Bay Ridge): 95.79 percent of votes counted

  • Marcela Mitaynes (Democratic, Working Families, incumbent): 77.03 percent of votes, or 19,760 votes
  • Erik Frankel (Republican, Conservative Party): 22.68 percent of votes, or 5,818 votes

State Assembly District 52 (Brooklyn Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Gowanus, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Boerum Hill and DUMBO): 99.00 percent of votes counted

  • Jo Anne Simon (Democratic, Working Families Party, incumbent): 93.87 percent of votes, or 56,289 votes
  • Brett Wynkoop (Conservative Party): 5.86 percent of votes, or 3,517 votes

State Assembly District 55 (Brownsville, Ocean Hill, Parts of Crown Heights): 98.96 percent of votes counted

  • Latrice Walker (Democratic, incumbent): 91.58 percent of votes, or 26,001 votes
  • Berneda Jackson (Republican, Conservative Party): 8.26 percent of votes, or 2,346 votes
