Parades In Brooklyn This Weekend: See Street Closures Here

It's going to be an incredibly festive weekend.

BROOKLYN, NY — Two major parades are marching through Brooklyn this weekend, and several roads will be closed for the festivities.

Columbus Day Parade

The 42nd Annual Brooklyn Columbus Day Parade, which will be on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Brooklyn, will celebrate Italian heritage and culture, according to the event's website.

The route of the parade will follow 18th Avenue from 63rd Street to Bath Avenue in Bensonhurst.

The road closures:

  • 61st-63rd Street between 17th Avenue and 19th Avenue
  • 18th Avenue between 61st Street and 63rd Street
  • 18th Avenue between 63rd Street and Bath Avenue
  • 18th Avenue between Benson Avenue and Bath Avenue

The Panamanian Pre-Independence Day Parade and Festival

The Panamanian Pre-Independence Day Parade, which will also be on Saturday, starting at 12 p.m., is the largest Panamanian celebration outside of Panama and celebrates Panamanian culture, according to its website.

The parade will follow Franklin Avenue from Dean Street to President Street in Crown Heights.

The road closures:

  • Franklin Avenue between Dean Street and President Street
  • Classon Avenue between President Street and Eastern Parkway
  • President Street between Franklin Avenue and Classon Avenue
  • Classon Avenue between Washington Avenue and Union Street
