🌱 $50MIL Being Invested In Buffalo's East Side + Juneteenth Festival

Here are the top three stories in Buffalo today:
- New York State has plans to invest $50 million in Buffalo's East side. Governor Kathy Hochul made a major announcement on Saturday in Buffalo about the future of the east side that is set to provide long-term solutions to business owners, residents, and victims of the Tops Mass Shooting. The money will be used for infrastructure and the creation of the East Side Resiliency Center while $7 million will go to small businesses. There will also be future incentives for homeowners. - The Buffalo Juneteenth Festival happened over the weekend! This past Saturday, the event was held for the first time in-person since 2019. See some highlights from the event including the parade filled with music, dancing, and family fun at the link. (WGRZ.com)
- Identical twin sisters celebrated their 90th birthday in Buffalo recently. On Saturday evening, Lorraine Gardner and Florraine Briggs celebrated their birthday surrounded by family and friends with the party's theme being "90 years of hope". "With all the hatred that's going on, here's something that's positive that we can look at and move forward saying 90 years of hope," said Tonya Briggs Daniels, daughter and niece of the birthday twins.
