Buffalo School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Buffalo is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Buffalo City School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)

November

• 11/7: No School (Election Day)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/22 - 1/25: High School Regents Exams

February

• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)
• 2/20 - 2/23: No School (Mid-Winter Recess)

March

• 3/30: No School (Spring Recess)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Recess)
• 4/11 - 4/13: Grades 3-8 ELA Testing Window
• 4/18: Early Release Day
• 4/19: No School for Students (Superintendent Conference Day)

May

• 5/1 - 5/3: Grades 3-8 Math Testing Window
• 5/9: Early Release Day
• 5/10: No School for Students (Superintendent Conference Day)
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/5, 6/12 - 6/21: High School Regents Exams
• 6/22: Last Day of School
