Here are the top three stories in Buffalo today:

  1. An emergency dispatcher has been fired after allegedly mishandling a plea for help during last month's Tops shooting. The grocery store employee who called 911 reported that she whispered during the call so she would not be heard by the shooter. The dispatcher — whose name has not been released — reportedly shouted at her, asked why she was whispering, then hung up the phone. (USA Today)
  2. Every Saturday in June, Explore & More - The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children's Museum is offering the public "pay what you wish" admission. Located in the heart of Buffalo, Explore & More offers four floors for children and families to explore. Advance ticket purchase is required to take advantage of the offer; additional information can be found here. (Niagara Frontier Publications)
  3. Nearly 1,200 people of all backgrounds came out to take the Buffalo firefighters entry examination on Saturday morning. The city, which started its recruitment efforts in March, strove to attract a diverse group of applicants. "We're happy to see the people who don't traditionally think about this have come out — and they have come out, as you can see, in big numbers," said G.G. Herndon-Hill, Buffalo Commissioner of Human Resources. (WGRZ.com)
