1.) National Fuel bills are expected to be higher than average across Western New York this winter. Karen Merkel, a spokesperson for National Fuel commented, “Unfortunately, your natural gas bill is trending the same way that every consumer product and expense has been." This is predicted to be true throughout heating this winter, from November to March.

2.) Buffalo Common Council outlines their new Language and Disability Action Plan. According to the action plan, city residents will now have access to language interpreters and translators during common council meetings and document translation services for any documents produced by the common council.
3.) Teenage indicted for murder is facing multiple felony charges. The seventeen year old male from Buffalo, NY, was charged yesterday with robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of weapon in the second degree, and two counts of murder in the second degree after fatally shooting a sixteen year old girl on August 19th.
4.) Groundbroke on a new Buffalo apartment community this past Thursday. The apartment complex, located on the corner to Main St and Hertel Ave, is called The Rails. The apartments will also include a fitness center, a golf simulator, and other amenities, according to the developers.
5.) Grace Retz, Houghton graduate, and her advisor Dr. Michael Ritter, are using The Hatfield Prize to research refugee food insecurity in Buffalo, NY. Their research will focus on lack of transportation access and language barriers and how government agencies, civil and service society institutions, and faith communities can best support refugee communities.
