🌱 New Bills Stadium Receives Local Funding + Antiracist Book Drive

Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo:

  1. The final piece of funding for the Buffalo Bills' new home has been approved. Erie County approved funding for a new stadium in Buffalo. The $250 million are part of a $1.2 billion project also funded by owners Kim & Terry Pegula, the NFL owners' association, and the state of New York. Learn more about the construction at the link.   2. Beginning tomorrow, the Erie County Department of Health will be offering COVID-19 vaccine booster doses to children aged 5-11. The booster, which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in May, will be available at county-run clinics.   3. Alice Ever After is hosting a book drive designed to start the conversation on race and acceptance. The book drive, started by the mother of Tops shooting survivor Zaire Goodman, is aimed at introducing children to books featuring black and brown characters and viewpoints.   • The Buffalo History Museum invites you to get a sneak peek ahead of the auction. Various artworks will be up for auction at the 21st Annual Paint The Town, taking place on Jun. 9. (Instagram)
  • Buffalo Waterfront wants you to come out to the Fitness Cruise. The trip aboard the Harbor Queen Boat includes a sixty-minute fitness class and a gorgeous view. Tickets can be found at the link. (Facebook)
