Court records say two young children were in her car, and she’s being held on significant bail while officials review her employment history with Buffalo police.

Utility workers are battling dangerous gusts, slick ground, and falling debris as they decide case by case whether it’s safe to go up in bucket trucks to restore electricity.

Most flights cancelled Monday at Buffalo Niagara International Airport (wgrz.com) — Most flights at Buffalo Niagara International Airport were canceled Monday as high winds prevented crews from safely de-icing planes, leaving many travelers stranded. One passenger bound for Richmond described boarding, taxiing, and then being stuck when gusts stayed above 40 mph. Many are now scrambling for rides or hotel rooms while they wait for conditions to improve.
   

5. Where the growth may come in 2026 (costar.com) — Buffalo is singled out as one of the more affordable housing markets, where home prices are lower relative to local incomes than in many coastal cities.
