🌱 Storefront Revitalization Initiative + Former Officer Pleads Guilty

Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo:
- Dozens of small businesses are applying for funds from Erie County's Storefront Revitalization Initiative. The program is providing $10 million to help businesses improve their exterior. According to Daniel Castle, the commissioner of planning and economic development, the county has received 144 applications since the program's launch in early May. Eligible businesses have fewer than 75 employees and less than $5 million in revenues. (Buffalo News)
- The North Tonawonda Police Department is hosting an active shooter town hall. The event is slated to take place at North Tonawanda Senior High School Alumni Center on Jun. 9 at 6:00 p.m. The Chief of Police Keith Gass says that the best way to reduce fatalities in an active shooter situation is to improve civilian response. - A former Buffalo police officer has pleaded guilty to multiple charges of domestic violence. Keenan Redmon's guilty plea is in regard to an incident that took place during the summer of 2021. According to charges, Redmon grabbed a woman by the back of her neck on one occasion and a month later entered her home and used a weapon to force her into a bathroom. Redmon faces a maximum of one year in jail. (WIVB.com - News 4)
