Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo:
- It's a world flocking record! The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy placed a flock of 4,280 plastic pink flamingos in Front Park yesterday, breaking the Guinness World Record for "longest line of garden flamingos." The previous record was for 3,753 flamingos. The Conservancy chose the number 4,280 in honor of Frederick Law Omsted's 200th birthday, which was Apr. 28. (The Buffalo News)
- A teenage girl is in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning. According to officials, the incident occurred just before 7:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Sycamore. The girl was sent to ECMC for multiple injuries. As of Tuesday evening, there is no information on her condition. (WIVB.com - News 4)
- These pies ain't cheap. According to a survey of local businesses, the price for a large pizza sits right around $30. Business owners say the price increase comes as part of a wave of inflation across the board. Jim Pacciotti, who owns Bocce, cites cost increases for necessary materials like paper products, mozzarella, oil, and pizza sauce. (The Business Journals)
