BROOKLYN, NY — One man is dead and another is hospitalized with an eye injury after a double shooting in Brooklyn Monday night, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, officers responded to 911 calls just after 10 p.m. reporting gunfire and arrived at 1233 Putnam Avenue—a residential street in Bushwick—where they found two people with gunshot wounds.

Police say one victim, a 39-year-old man, was shot in the abdomen, while the other, a 63-year-old man, was shot in the eye.

EMS rushed both victims to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. Ramel Fisher, the 39-year-old who was shot in the abdomen, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

As of Tuesday morning, the 63-year-old remains in stable condition.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing, NYPD officials said.
