Bushwick Center Residents Reaches Her 100th Birthday
Originally From Jamaica, An Exuberant Alberta Clue Celebrates With Family, Friends and Staff
When she was taken into the large community Adult Day Care room at Bushwick Center on March 8, 2022 on Sheffield Avenue in Bushwick, the newly 100 year-old Alberta Clue was nothing but all smiles as the singing DJ of the event belted out upbeat classic R&B for all to sing and dance to. Along with her daughter, grandchildren and even great grandchildren, the Jamaican-born farmer Ms. Clue, who has been in the United States for 50 years, felt the love of everyone in the room, including staff, long-time Director of Nursing Veronica Franklin-Simon and fellow nursing home residents.

Recreation Director Maria Machado and her team organized the celebration beautifying the room with colorful balloons, table arrangements, and streamers.
"Alberta Clue is a spectacular person with a great soul," said Machado. "Having her family here to celebrates with her is a milestone within itself due to what everyone has been going through over the past two years. Alberta made it through COVID-19, that's another reason to celebrate."

Our good friends from News 12 Brooklyn came to cover the event, interviewing Alberta's daughter and some of the family. Later on during the event, the whole room broke into a lively rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Alberta and then enjoyed a full lunch at the 225-bed skilled nursing facility.
