• 11-year-old from Cairo becomes New York Ranger for a day through Make-A-Wish charity (timesunion.com) — An 11-year-old Cairo-Durham Elementary student, Finn Keaney, had his Make-A-Wish dream come true by signing a one-day contract with the New York Rangers and skating at Madison Square Garden. The young goalie from Cairo met star netminder Igor Shesterkin, lined up with the team for the national anthem, and collected autographs after the Rangers’ overtime win, creating a night his family says exceeded every expectation.
   

• 911 Call Reveals Double Murder-Suicide At Rural Hudson Valley Property (dailyvoice.com) — A tragic murder-suicide in neighboring Catskill drew in multiple agencies, including Town of Cairo Police, after a 911 caller reportedly confessed to killing two friends before taking his own life. State Police found three men dead on a rural property off Forest View Drive near Cairo Junction Road, and investigators are still piecing together what happened while asking anyone with information to come forward.
