• Riverhead to hold lottery Monday for special firearms deer season in January (riverheadlocal.com) — If you hunt or use town land in Calverton, take note: Riverhead will hold a Dec. 15 lottery to assign shotgun deer hunting dates on designated town property in the Calverton Enterprise Park and at 1751 Sound Avenue. Those parcels, including EPCAL’s recreation path, will be closed to the public for all of January during the special firearms deer season.
