5 Things: Red Hook Jazz and Living Without the R

Plan your weekend and get up to speed with what's going on around town.

1. I am in trouble with Minneapolis: The larger half of the Twin Cities is a bit irate with Carroll Gardens Patch after I took umbrage with NYC's second place finish in the recent Trust for Public Land ParkScore challenge.

2. Get some "new to you" duds at the kids clothing swap:
ArtsCetera in Cobble Hill is hosting its Spring Kids Clothing Swap on June 8 and 9, with a suggested entry donation of $10.

3. Jazz it up:
Take a trip on Sunday, June 9 to the Red Hook Jazz Festival. You can't have more fun than that, I promise you.

4. Start Making Plans To Live Without the R train:
In August, the tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan will close for 14 months. Don't say we didn't warn you.

5. Move that rig: Alternate Side Parking rules are active Friday. You don't get a day off until July 4.
