1. Jury selection in the trial of Michael Valva, and his former fiancée are set to begin on April 27. His son, Thomas Valva, was found dead at his Center Moriches home in 2020 from hypothermia after repeatedly being forced to sleep in a freezing garage. (News 12 Bronx)
2. Donors sought to help with the current blood shortage at the Stony Brook Hospital Blood Bank. It only takes 45 minutes — from paperwork to juice and cookies — to donate whole blood, and every donation is used to treat a Stony Brook University Hospital patient.
