1. On May 14, from noon to 10 p.m., the Mayday Music Festival comes to Southaven County Park in Yaphank. The event will feature music, a diverse assortment of food trucks, craft beers and Long Island wines. Proceeds go to fund charitable causes such as scholarships for union members and their families, promoting union organizing and activism, and supporting Long Island Cares: The Harry Chapin Food Bank. 2. Police said an Oakdale man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a crash in East Farmingdale early Friday morning. "Police said the 26-year-old man was driving on Route 109 near Route 110 when he drove his vehicle across a grass median." According to police, the car struck a fence and multiple parked unoccupied vehicles. (News 12 Bronx)
3. On March 26, Long Island’s Adventureland is scheduled to open for the first time in nearly three years as it celebrates its 60th anniversary. Steve Gentile, co-owner and president of Adventureland, said management at the amusement park located at 2245 Broadhollow Road in East Farmingdale is "very excited" to welcome parkgoers for their first normal opening weekend since March 2019.
