1. Moriches Field Brewing Company took over vacant property in October 2020, amid the pandemic. That made the company eligible for various grants from PSEG Long Island to encourage economic development. "Initially the company received the utilities Vacant Space Revival Program discounts, which will save the owner more than $4,000 on electric bills and an additional $770 in lighting rebates for replacing inefficient lighting fixtures in the building with LEDs," wrote Longisland.com. “When local businesses thrive, it helps improve the local economy, which is a win-win-win,” John Keating, manager of Economic Development at PSEG Long Island said. 2. The Suffolk County Department of Health Services' Division of Environmental Quality will hold its regular monthly Board of Review Hearing on Thursday March 10. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) response, the hearings will be held via Zoom. (Press Release Desk)

On Feb. 28, in celebration of Black History Month, members of Southampton High School's Black Girl Magic Club and students from Southampton Intermediate School participated in the National African American Read-In Movement. They brought in books authored or illustrated by African Americans and read them to the district's elementary school students. (Patch)
