1. This week, the Long Island Regional Planning Council may declare a $2.8 billion redevelopment proposal in Ronkonkoma. So far, the project is supported by both Suffolk County and Islip Town leaders. (Subscription: Newsday)
2. Ryan Walker, 37, was killed and Robert Kehlenbeck, 46, was seriously injured when a vehicle hit them while they were working on a pickup truck parked outside of Walker’s home. The incident happened on Express Drive South Wednesday around 5:29 p.m., in Holtsville, Suffolk police said. After the collision, the vehicle fled eastbound on Express Drive South, police said. Anyone with information about the crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6553. (Daily Voice)
3. Looking to take your 4-wheel drive onto one of many Long Island beaches this summer? Newsday provided a list of beaches that offer permit off-roaders to drive on the sand. (Newsday)
4. Put on your "green" and join the first ever Irish festival in Patchogue. The Inish Fada Fleadh will run from June 11 and 12 on the grounds of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, located at 495 North Ocean Ave. The gates will open daily at noon. "Tickets are $25 and the proceeds will benefit Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Hope House Ministries, and Hibernian Charities, organizers wrote on Eventgroove.com." (Patch)
