Firefighters Called Out In Miller Place After Vehicle Catches Fire As Motorist Jump-Starts It: Police

Arson Squad detectives were notified of the incident, Suffolk police say.

MILLER PLACE, NY — A fire broke out in a vehicle as it was being jump-started in Miller Place on Thursday night, Suffolk police said.

Firefighters were called to Canal Road at around 7:45 p.m., after a motorist reported hearing a popping sound then saw the vehicle on fire and could not put it out, according to police.

Suffolk's Arson Squad was notified of the incident, police said.
