1. On Tuesday night, a fire broke out at a home on Wellwood Drive in Shirley at about 9:30 p.m., and when firefighters arrived, the truck was "fully involved" with "flames threatening a pair of propane tanks attached to an adjacent camper," the department stated on its Facebook page. "Members quickly arrived and aggressively attacked the fire while also working to cool down the propane tanks," the post read. "The fire was brought under control in short order; however, the vehicle was severely damaged," fire officials said. (Patch)
2. Suffolk County Press Release: "The Suffolk County Department of Health Services' Division of Environmental Quality will hold its regular monthly Board of Review Hearing on Thursday April 14. Only Department representatives, applicants, applicant representatives, and formally invited parties will be able to speak during the hearing." 3. The Northport VA could close its emergency room, shift medical and surgical services to local hospitals and move its residential rehabilitation program to Queens under a new proposal.
