Here are the top stories in Center Moriches-Eastport today:

1. The murder trial for Michael Valva and Angela Pollina, accused of "causing the hypothermia death of 8-year-old Thomas Valva on Jan. 17, 2020" is delayed. The jury was set to begin Wednesday morning, but the Supreme Court Justice William Condon heard oral arguments on the defense motion to add two lesser offenses to the charges. Defense attorney Anthony LaPinta argued that two lesser charges and shorter prison sentences should be considered. (Subscription: Newsday)
2. Joseph Preli, a Manorville resident, took his passion on the road with Tex-Mex delights; Turburritos Tex-Mex food truck at 2801 Montauk Highway, in Brookhaven hamlet. Preli was into smoking meat, then the pandemic hit, he was out of a job, but not ideas. Preli changed the menu from BBQ to Tex-Mex and never looked back.
