Karime Flores Named New Assistant Principal At Horace Greeley HS

Flores, who comes from Somers High School, where she was the Assistant Principal of Administration, will start her new job on July 24.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — Horace Greeley High School's recently hired assistant principal might be new to the Chappaqua School District, but she is already well known and respected in Westchester County academic circles.

The Chappaqua Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Karime Flores as a new Assistant Principal at Horace Greeley High School. Flores joins Horace Greeley with a range of leadership experiences focused on supporting students and creating safe, collaborative learning environments.

Flores currently serves as Assistant Principal of Administration at Somers High School, where she supervises teachers in the departments of Special Education, Social Studies, Art, World Languages, and English as a New Language. In this role, she also supports two student grade levels and serves as the school’s Test Coordinator, 504 Chairperson, and DASA Coordinator.

One of the things that most impressed me about Chappaqua is its commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment and focuses on holistic student development in addition to academic excellence," Flores shared. Prior to her tenure as an Assistant Principal, Flores held multiple district-level positions in the New York City Department of Education. Her leadership roles as both an Assistant Principal and Director of Student Support Services at the Professional Performing Arts School and Director of Operations and Student Support Services at East Side Community High School highlight her ability to establish partnerships, support counseling services, and oversee budget and personnel matters. In addition, she has worked as a Director of Human Resources, Director of Operations, and Guidance Chairperson in other New York City Department of Education schools.

Flores is certified as a New York State School Building Leader, School Counselor, and holds a Bilingual Extension. She earned a Master of Science Degree in School Building Leadership from the College of St. Rose, a Master of Science Degree in Counseling with a Bilingual Extension from Mercy College, an Advanced Certificate in Urban Family Counseling from Mercy College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Lehman College.
