Lauren Olmo Named Interim Assistant Principal at Horace Greeley High School

Olmo will step in for Dr. Lauralyn Stewart, who recently assumed the role of Interim Principal at Seven Bridges Middle School.

Chappaqua, NY - The Chappaqua Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Olmo as an Interim Assistant Principal at Horace Greeley High School. Olmo will step in for Dr. Lauralyn Stewart, who recently assumed the role of Interim Principal at Seven Bridges Middle School.

For the past two years, Olmo has served as Greeley’s Coordinator of Student Life, where she has demonstrated a commitment to empowering students, supporting innovative professional learning, and building relationships with all stakeholders. Olmo worked to engage students in the school community and help them develop their leadership skills by revising the Senior Capstone experience, created a student leadership course for club leaders, and coordinated over 100 student clubs and organizations at Greeley. Additionally, Olmo led and planned whole-school and department professional development on building school community and student relationships, and worked closely with the PTA and Special Education PTA to enhance the school community.

“It brings me great joy to be serving this school community in a new role,” Olmo shared. “I look forward to supporting our students, teachers, and Chappaqua families.”

Prior to coming to Chappaqua, Olmo was part of the founding staff at KIPP NYC College Prep High School and launched their dance program. While at KIPP she led a robust arts department that has multi-level curriculum and AP courses and she has provided opportunities for students to build their identity, develop character, and broaden their overall educational experience.

“Lauren’s dedication to student engagement, wellness, and community building makes her an excellent choice," remarked Dr. Sandra Sepe, Principal of Horace Greeley High School. “We look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have as Interim Assistant Principal.”

Olmo will start as Interim Assistant Principal at Horace Greeley High School on August 28, 2023.
