Polly Cooper Chapter Helps Support Operation Baby Shower
Local DAR chapter joined forces with the community in supporting local American Legion in the month of the Military Child
The Polly Cooper Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution helped support the 7th annual Adolph Pfister Unit 1038 Operation Baby Shower which was held Saturday, April 26th at Westchester Community College.
The 2025 donation drive far exceeded expectations, with thousand and one pounds of baby items donated to be distributed to expectant military families through Operation Shower, a non-profit based in St. Louis, MO, Fort Drum in upstate New York to the New Parent Support Program (NPSP)Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst for the Airman Attic and Baby XO.
United States Air Force Technical Sergeant Gary Kress and his wife, Stephanie along with their son were present to represent expectant US military families across the world. The Kress family was showered with lots of, gifts, and good wishes as they prepare to welcome the newest member of their family, a baby girl!

Keynote speaker Reverend Viviana DeCohen, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Veterans, and Westchester County Legislator Margaret Cunzio and Director of the Westchester County Veteran Service Agency, Joshua Gaccione were also present and provided remarks thanking these military families for their service and sacrifices.
Kim McCrea, Rosemarie Schmidt, Sarah Sernacker and Muriel Stegmann from the Daughters of the American Revolution Polly Cooper Chapter were pleased to be among the attendees, deliver a carload of blankets, clothes, rattles, diapers and other items donated by the Polly Cooper membership and to help package up boxes for distribution.

Whether someone knitted, crocheted, purchased items, helped pack, made a connection, held a drive, or provided financial support, American Legion Auxiliary Adolph Pfister Unit 1038's Emmy Cresky, expressed how grateful they were for the support of this initiative not only to them but most importantly by those who serve.
