Polly Cooper, NSDAR welcomes 100 New American Citizens
Members of the Chappaqua based Daughters of the American Revolution presented flags at a naturalization ceremony in White Plains

(White Plains, NY) On March 12, 2025, the Honorable Judge Janet Malone presided over a heartfelt naturalization ceremony held at the Richard Daronco Courthouse in White Plains, swearing in 100 new United States citizens. This momentous occasion not only marked the end of a rigorous journey for these individuals but also celebrated their commitment to the values and ideals that define the American spirit.
The naturalization ceremony, a significant milestone for immigrants, is the final step in achieving U.S. citizenship after successfully navigating a citizenship interview and exam. It is a time-honored tradition that reaffirms the principles of democracy and the rule of law in this diverse nation. The 100 new citizens reflect the diverse backgrounds and cultures that make up the fabric of the United States.
Vice-Regent Judy Carey of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR, was present at the ceremony, alongside long-time member Barbara Napoli. The two women were honored to participate in the event, presenting American flags, flag code booklets, and flag pins to the new citizens, symbolizing their official welcome into the community. "It’s a wonderful and uplifting moment to witness," said Napoli. Ms. Carey spoke passionately about the emotional weight of the ceremony, particularly as she watched these candidates take the Oath of Allegiance.
