Chappaqua School Budget Proposal Passes Easily

The approved spending plan of $138,296,286 is 3.23 percent higher than the previous school budget.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — The polls have closed and the votes are counted — the unofficial results of the Chappaqua School District election are in.

The 2023 budget and school board vote included two seats are up for election on the Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education.

The proposed spending plan of $138,296,286 is 3.23 percent higher than the current budget. The budget was approved by voters.

The tax levy is expected to rise 2.11 percent, which is below the state's tax cap.

"Our budget prioritizes continued excellence in our K-12 academic program, supports student well-being and emotional development, and provides important facilities upgrades," Superintendent Christine Ackerman said.

Two board seats were up for election. Candidates running included: Matthew Auerbach, Shokoofeh Rajabzadeh, Alissa Dorfman, Beret Flom. Dorfman and Auerbach won those seats.
