"The Blacklist" Crews Come to Pleasantville

The new NBC television series starring James Spader filmed two scenes in the village on Saturday.

Chosen for its "sweet" feel, Pleasantville served as the backdrop for two scenes from the new NBC series The Blacklist on Saturday.

The crime show stars James Spader as an FBI most wanted criminal who turns himself in and begins working with a rookie agent, according to Assistant Location Manager James McCauley.

Today, a scene involving the husband of the agent played by Megan Boone talking on his phone, was shot in the Washington Avenue/Manville Road area of the village.

Large trucks full of equipment and props were seen in the downtown.

Over on the Marble Avenue corridor, trucks were stationed near Parkway Field and on Castleton Street, where another scene was shot inside Breaking Ground Dance Studio, according to McCauley.
