169 Affordable Units in Three Manhattan West Opening for Applications

The new development at 435 W. 31st St. in Hudson Yards will be accepting applications for its lottery beginning on Sept. 6.

HUDSON YARDS, NY — The ultra-lux glass skyscraper going up at 435 West 31st Street, christened Three Manhattan West, will open its affordable housing lottery on Sept. 6.

The building will house 844 apartments, 169 of which will be affordable and up for grabs in the lottery. Those looking to apply can do so through the city's Housing Connect page. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 7, and preference for 50 percent of the units will go to people already living in Community Board 4 (West 14th Street to West 59th Street).

There will be 53 studio apartments available, 89 one-bedroom apartments, 25 two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom apartments. But you will have to satisfy a number of income qualifications first and foremost.

The building, which has 62 floors, is located between Ninth and 10th avenues. It will be all rental units.

According to the lottery application, amenities in the building will include a bike repair room, kids playroom, library, lounge, game room and laundry room. Also, for a fee, you can gain access to a fitness center, pet spa, arcade, sky lounge and golf simulator. Yes, a golf simulator.

The residential building at 435 W. 31st St. is just the first of three towers being built in the development. There will also be two skyscrapers holding office space filling the same spot.
