The winter season through most of 18th and 19th centuries in Rockland County began with the holidays of Christmas and New Year’s. These holidays had both secular and religious significance for county residents. Between them they created a holiday week during which the regular routine of farm chores was enlivened by special foods and festivities. In the 49th Annual Holiday Exhibition, "Holidays on the Farm," we explore our county's rich agricultural heritage, highlighting unique features of the holiday season.

The New York Resilience Award: Healing Through Art exhibition champions the voices of 20 selected artists and will be on view December 13–19, 2025, at Agora Gallery, 530 W 25th Street.
The exhibition highlights the power of creativity to transform trauma, offering a space where healing and resilience take center stage.
Presented in partnership with the MyWhatIf Foundation, the event aims to raise $250,000 for PTSD recovery and scientific research.
Half of all proceeds benefit the foundation, and half go directly to the artists, supporting their creativity and vision.
The Art Show Event and Benefit Auction takes place on Thursday, December 18, 6–8 PM, offering attendees the chance to acquire momentous works while directly supporting healing.
Each $100 raised funds one full recovery journey through MyWhatIf’s narrative-based treatment.

The Chaka Khan&nbsp;Foundation&nbsp;in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships will co-host the second annual UN World Meditation Day on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to&nbsp;1:00&nbsp;PM EST, bringing together millions worldwide for a shared moment of stillness, reflection, and collective healing. The event will take place at the UN Goals Lounge in New York City and&nbsp;will stream&nbsp;globally via <a href="https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1f/k1fz454xwg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">UN Web TV</a>. 

Building on the success of last year's inaugural observance, this year's gathering brings together music legend and wellness advocate Chaka Khan, CBS Mornings host Gayle King, spiritual leader Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith, UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications Melissa Fleming, Executive Director of the United Nations Office for partnerships Annemarie Hou, and sound therapist Sara&nbsp;Auster. Tutu School exists to make space in the lives of children, 6 months to 8 years old, for creativity and joy. We do one thing – provide very young students with a magical introduction to ballet – and we focus all of our energy on doing that one thing in the highest quality manner possible. This means that every aspect of your child’s experience at Tutu School- from the sparkling spaces to the smiling faces – has been specifically tailored to the needs of even the tiniest dancers. Our carefully crafted curriculum was designed by dance professionals and developmental specialists to ensure that precisely the right amount of ballet technique is being introduced to students at exactly the right time, and not any earlier than their little bodies and young imaginations are ready for it. Importantly, our Tutu teachers receive thoughtful training in our curriculum and in the best ways to support young dancers, whatever their age, developmental stage, or level of experience. We believe in introducing students to ballet in a way that makes sense for their bodies and their development, but that also nurtures their creativity and love of music and movement.
