Score A Studio For $702 Per Month In Chelsea Near The High Line

Renters can snag more than 150 affordable units in this 18-story luxury high rise in Chelsea.

CHELSEA, NY — More than 150 affordable apartments are up for grabs inside a 18-story luxury rental tower in Chelsea — where applicants can snag a studio for $702 a month less than a block from the High Line.

There are 159 units available at the Fulton Houses at 425 West 18th Street, which were created as part of the neighborhood's 2006 rezoning to build more affordable housing in Chelsea. The building launched its lottery for the units on Thursday.

Renters can score a studio, one bedroom or two bedroom apartment at rates that cater to individuals and families earning 50, 100, 160 and 165 percent of the area median income.

For studios, rents range from $702 to $2,132 per a month. One bedroom apartments are priced at $753 up to $2,674 and two bedroom units go for $910 up to $3,216 per month.

The luxury tower boasts a roof top deck, a laundry room, bike storage and a community space, according to building records. The developers behind the project also aim to refurbish the nearby playground and basketball court.
