• Onondaga County to make $3 million deal with 91-year-old to make room for Micron (localsyr.com) — Onondaga County officials are set to vote Thursday on paying nearly $3 million to acquire 91-year-old Azalia King’s longtime Clay property, clearing a key obstacle for Micron’s planned semiconductor megafabs in town. The deal follows a contentious eviction effort and comes amid broader community concerns over project delays, environmental review, and generous tax breaks tied to Micron’s massive Clay expansion.
   

• Residents push back on Micron-linked housing plan (fingerlakes1.com) — A major housing proposal in the town of Onondaga is drawing fire partly because it sits about 20 miles from Micron’s planned chip plant in Clay, raising doubts about its usefulness for future workers. Neighbors also worry about blasting, flooding, traffic, and steep projected rents, and the project can’t move forward unless the town approves a rezoning—otherwise developers say they’ll scale back to a smaller subdivision.
