County Says $35,000 Available Through Microenterprise Assistance Program For Businesses (wxhc.com) β Small business owners in Cortland County can now apply for grants up to $35,000 through the countyβs Microenterprise Assistance Program, aimed at job creation and business growth. Eligible for-profit businesses with five or fewer employees, including startups and home-based ventures, must meet income guidelines and create or retain at least one job to qualify.

2. One Taken to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center Following Single-Vehicle Crash on Route 41 (wxhc.com) β Emergency crews from Cortland County responded overnight to a serious single-vehicle rollover on Route 41 in Homer, freeing a trapped driver from a smoking car. The victim was taken to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries as deputies investigate how the southbound vehicle left the road and overturned in a ditch.

3. State pulls plug on major broadband project in Cayuga Co. (fingerlakes1.com) β A major state-funded broadband build that included Cortland County has been canceled, halting plans to extend high-speed internet to many unserved residents.
