Deer Park Musicians Play With Best in New York

DeNoyior, Winters and Guyer selected to participate in all-state festival in Rochester.

Three Deer Park High School students recently performed at the all-state concerts, held Dec. 3-6 at the Eastman Theater in Rochester, part of the New York State School Music Association’s 80th annual winter conference.

Joseph DeNoyior and Alec Winters were selected by NYSSMA for the all-state mixed chorus, and Kalvin Guyer was chosen for the all-state symphony orchestra. The three musicians rehearsed long hours for the event, and got to tour the winter conference’s convention center and meet other selected musicians from across the state.

“Alec, Joseph and Kalvin exhibit a level of dedication and talent that has allowed them to be a part of something truly incredible,” said Bradley Murphy, the district’s curriculum associate for fine and performing arts.
