Bank Robbed In North Babylon, Marking 2nd Incident On LI This Week: Police

Police said the man handed a teller a note demanding cash before running from the Flagstar Bank.

NORTH BABYLON, NY — A man robbed a North Babylon bank on Wednesday afternoon and fled the scene before officers arrived, according to Suffolk County police.

Police said the man walked into Flagstar Bank, located at 1501 Deer Park Ave., at 12:48 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied, and the man ran from the bank.

The suspect is described as white, in his mid-40s, with a thin build, bald with graying facial hair. Police said he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, light-colored pants, and black shoes.

A bank on Montauk Highway in West Babylon was also robbed on Monday afternoon, but Suffolk police have not stated whether the two incidents are connected.

Major Case Unit detectives are asking anyone with information to call 631-852-6555.
