Toys ‘R’ Us Returns To Long Island: New Flagship Opens At Tanger Outlets Deer Park

Shoppers can expect meet-and-greets and more inside the first stand-alone Toys 'R' Us on Long Island since 2018.

DEER PARK, NY — Toys “R” Us is returning to Long Island this weekend with the opening of a new 7,000-square-foot flagship store at Tanger Outlets Deer Park.

The store, located at 152 The Arches Circle in the former Forever 21 space across from Bath & Body Works, opens to the public on Saturday, Nov. 22, just in time for the holiday rush.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Saturday and will feature an appearance by Geoffrey the Giraffe. The company said the grand opening will roll into a full-day celebration that continues throughout the weekend, with Geoffrey returning for multiple meet-and-greets, in-store activities for kids, and giveaways for early shoppers. The first 50 guests will receive swag bags, and the first 25 will receive full-size Snoozimals plush toys.

The new Toys “R” Us will be operated by Go! Retail Group is designed as a family-centered space that blends nostalgia with hands-on play.

Shoppers will find top brands such as LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels, NERF, and Paw Patrol, alongside photo opportunities with Geoffrey and a newly built arcade area. The arcade will include claw machines and gashapon machines, with Tomy Gacha machines — widely popular in Japan — preparing to make their U.S. debut.
