The Inspector was promoted Friday, Jan. 25, at One Police Plaza, said Captain James Palumbo, who added he never had a commanding officer as dedicated to their community as Rodriguez.
"He always says if you don't have friends, you don't have anything," Palumbo said, noting that Rodriguez had a family obligation and could not attend Wednesday's meeting.

Separately, Palumbo noted the Precinct received a new group of IMPACT officers and members of the community should expect to see the fresh faces throughout the neighborhood.Â
"They're any important component [of the community]," Palumbo said. He said the Precinct presently has 175 officers, with 51 from Operation IMPACT.Â
The next 70th Precinct Community Council meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 175 Lawrence Ave.Â
